Yoga and Meditation for Beginners

 

This fall, Yoga and Meditation Classes will be offered at the Riverview Public Library by the Isha Foundation, an international, non-profit, public service organization dedicated to cultivating human potential.

 

 

The classes are FREE and open to everyone.

The Foundation will offer three Yoga for Beginners (Upa Yoga) classes for Adults and Children Ages 7+ and three Meditation for Beginners (Isha Kriya) classes for Adults and Ages 12+.

The six classes, described below, will be held in the evening except for one afternoon meditation session throughout the fall.

 


Yoga for Beginners (Upa Yoga) for Ages 7+

Tuesday, October 36:30 – 8:00 pm

Wednesday, November 16:30 – 8:00 pm

Wednesday, December 66:30 – 8:00 pm

 

Description:  Through a synthesis of 5-minute yoga practices, these sessions will present easy-to-practice yet potent tools to enhance health, joy, peace, love, success and inner exploration, helping one cope with the hectic pace of modern lifestyles and realize their full potential in all spheres of life.  Each session lasts 90 minutes.

Designed by Sadhguru and conducted in few thousand cities, towns and villages worldwide, these workshops intend to bring the timeless benefits of Yoga to every human beingon the planet. Practices taught include invigorating physical postures (Sadilaja and Yoga Namaskar), breathing methods (Kriya), Nada Yoga and Meditation.

It is recommended that you wear loose, comfortable clothing and do not eat for 2 hours before the event.

Please bring a yoga mat if desired.

 


Meditation for Beginners (Isha Kriya) for Ages 12+

 

Saturday, October 212:00 – 3:00 pm

Wednesday, November 156:00 – 7:00 pm

Wednesday, December 136:00 – 7:00 pm

Description:  Learn a simple yet powerful 15 minute practice which creates enhanced clarity, improved health and a state of peacefulness and joy. No previous meditation experience is necessary and it can be done seated in a chair.  These are 60-minute sessions.
